Foundation for Performance Measurement Home Page Organisation Description

Although the use of non-financial performance measures has been well established for many years, leading enterprises have tended to focus most of their attention on financial indicators when assessing their results. Only recently have rigorous approaches emerged to assess non-financial results.

Measurements of this type, especially those that are future-oriented, are key ingredients of the performance management revolution that is changing the ground rules for business worldwide.

Integrating performance data from "upstream" business drivers (such as customer satisfaction and employee motivation) with "downstream" financial results is one of the major management challenges of the 1990s.

Established by the consulting, skills development and technology group METAPRAXIS, the Foundation is a membership organisation dedicated to extending the scope of enterprise information beyond the conventional focus on internal, historic, financial, numeric and short term data.

It serves as a source of information, as a forum for research and debate and as a link to tools and resources for organisations interested in developing practical new ways of measuring enterprise performance.

The Foundation links businesses that have successfully implemented new performance measures with those that are endeavouring to do so or have yet to begin the process, and it puts all of them in touch with experts in the field. It brings together the following types of organisation:
